Alone or with hundreds of family and friends, a retreat to Acton will be one for the memory book. As we like to say in Acton, you’ll step back in time without leaving the present.
Be sure to stop a few minutes at the smallest State Historic Site in Texas, a regal monument of Elizabeth Crockett looking off in the distance for the return of her husband, Davy Crockett, Texas pioneer and patriot, killed at the Alamo in 1836. The monument in Acton Cemetery marks the burial site of Crockett’s second wife, who died in 1860.
Acton is approximately 40 miles southwest of Fort Worth on the Brazos River in Hood County. From Hwy 377, head east on Fall Creek Hwy.
